Recently, the selected plays for the 2026 China National Classic Opera Highlights Performances, jointly organized by the Bureau of Arts of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Division of Art of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, were announced. The classic Teochew Opera Sao Chuang Hui (The Window-Sweeping Encounter) by the Guangdong Chiu-Chow Opera Theatre was successfully selected. It will be staged at the Mei Lanfang Grand Theater in Beijing on August 10, showcasing the theatrical charm of Teochew Opera to a national audience on a state-level opera stage.

This performance of Sao Chuang Hui in Beijing is of extraordinary significance. In 1957, the renowned Teochew Opera performing artist Yao Xuanqiu brought this classic play to perform in Beijing. Sixty-nine years later, this play has been revived and co-starred by Yu Qiongying, CLASS-I Performer and close disciple of Yao Xuanqiu, and Lin Chufa, CLASS-I Performer and municipal-level representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage Teochew Opera project. The artistic lineage of two generations of Teochew Opera artists continues across time and space.

潮剧《扫窗会》时隔六十九载再赴京华

　　近日，中央宣传部文艺局、文化和旅游部艺术司联合主办的2026年全国经典折子戏展演公布入选剧目，广东潮剧院经典潮剧《扫窗会》成功入选，将于8 月10日登陆北京梅兰芳大剧院，在国家级戏曲舞台向全国观众展现潮剧独特的戏曲风韵。

　　此次《扫窗会》进京演出意义非凡。1957年，著名潮剧表演艺术家姚璇秋先生携这出经典剧目晋京献艺。69年后，由姚璇秋入室弟子、一级演员余琼莹，以及国家级非物质文化遗产潮剧项目市级代表性传承人 、一级演员林初发联袂复排主演，两代潮剧人的艺术血脉跨越时空接续。
