On July 16, during the 2026 China (Guangdong)-ASEAN Trade Promotion & Supply Chain Cooperation Mechanism Exchange Conference held in Guangzhou, the "Guangdong (Shantou) - Thailand Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Community" (hereinafter referred to as the “Community”), initiated by the Shantou Council for the Promotion of International Trade and led by the ASEAN-China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Cooperation and Development, was officially established.

Leveraging the close ties between Shantou and Bangkok as international sister cities, as well as the profound bonds between the two cities in economic, trade, industrial, and cultural fields, the Community has already incorporated 70 founding member units, including business associations and key enterprises from Thailand and China. It will focus on four major fields: the digital economy, big health, cross-border e-commerce, and advanced manufacturing, to build a normalized matchmaking platform for local economic and trade cooperation between Shantou and Thailand. This will upgrade "Shantou-Thailand cooperation" from sporadic enterprise mutual visits to an "economic and trade cooperation promotion alliance" with established mechanisms, member lists, and clear directions. Relying on its unique operating mechanism, the Community will, on the one hand, integrate the channel resources of the ASEAN-China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Cooperation and Development across ASEAN countries and, on the other hand, link up with local industrial forces in Shantou. It will establish a regular matchmaking mechanism to help Shantou enterprises expand into the Thai market, attract high-quality Thai industrial resources to settle in Shantou, create a new benchmark for Guangdong–Thailand local economic and trade cooperation, and inject fresh momentum into Shantou’s opening-up and high-quality economic development.

“广东（汕头）—泰国经贸合作促进共同体”正式成立

　　7月16日，在2026中国（广东）—东盟贸易促进与供应链合作机制对接交流会（广州）举办期间，由汕头市贸促会倡议、东盟产业促进会牵头的“广东（汕头）—泰国经贸合作促进共同体”正式成立。

　　依托汕头与曼谷国际友好城市渊源，以及两地在经贸、产业、文化领域的深厚纽带，该共同体首批已吸纳泰国及国内商协会、重点企业等70家成员单位，将聚焦数字经济、大健康、跨境电商、先进制造四大领域，打造汕泰地方经贸合作的常态化对接平台，把“汕泰合作”从零散的企业互访，升级为有机制、有名单、有方向的“经贸合作促进联盟”。共同体将依靠独特的运作机制，一方面整合东盟产业产促会在东盟各国的渠道资源，另一方面联动汕头本地产业力量，建立常态化对接机制，助力汕头企业拓展泰国市场，吸引泰国优质产业资源落地汕头，打造粤泰地方经贸合作新标杆，为汕头对外开放与经济高质量发展注入新动能。
