Recently, the program review results of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) during the centralized acceptance period in 2026 were released. 100 programs were approved for Shantou University, breaking the 100 mark for the first time, with a total direct funding amount of 37.64 million yuan, setting new records in the number of approved programs and funding amount in the university’s history.

The number of programs approved for Shantou University this year increases by 67% year on year. Among them, there are 40 general programs, a year-on-year increase of 38%; 59 Category C programs under the Young Scientists Fund, a year-on-year increase of 111%; and one program under the Research Fund for International Scientists‌. By discipline, there is significant progress in all disciplines, in which medicine shows outstanding performance. 55 programs are approved for Medical College and its affiliated hospitals, a year-on-year increase of 77%. Shantou University has become the first university with 100 or more NSFC programs approved in a year among the prefecture-level cities in Guangdong Province except for Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

汕头大学国家自然科学基金立项首破百项

　　近日，2026年国家自然科学基金集中受理期项目评审结果公布。汕头大学共获批项目100项，首次突破百项大关，总直接资助经费3764万元，立项数量、资助经费双双刷新学校历史纪录。

　　本年度汕头大学立项数较去年同期增长67%。其中面上项目40项，同比增长38%；青年科学基金项目C类59项，同比增长111%；外国学者研究基金项目1项。从学科分布看，各学科均取得显著进步，其中医学表现突出，医学院及附属医院共立项55项，较去年增长77%。汕大也成为广东省除广州、深圳以外地市中首个国家自然科学基金年度立项数破百的高校。
