On the afternoon of September 21, a delegation led by Ding Hong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the Silicon Valley Technology Council, visited Shantou and made in-depth exchanges with our city on deepening technological innovation and strengthening industrial collaboration. Li Zhuobin, Counselor of the State Council and former Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and others were present.

At the meeting, Zhuang Yuequn, Secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee, expected the council to care for and support Shantou as always, expand comprehensive, multi-level, and long-term pragmatic cooperation, drive more entrepreneurs and high-level talents for visits to and business development in Shantou, and facilitate the landing of cutting-edge topics, core technologies, innovation teams, and high-quality projects in Shantou. Ding Hong said, the council would fully leverage its role as a platform and bond to introduce more talents, enterprises, and innovation platforms into Shantou for development, and inject innovation momentum into the upgrading and high-quality development of Shantou's industries with focus on key fields such as new materials, AI, green computing power, advanced manufacturing, and biomedicine.

　　9月21日下午，中国科学院院士、美国硅谷科技咨询委员会主席丁洪一行莅汕，与我市围绕深化科技创新、加强产业协作进行深入交流。国务院参事、中国侨联原副主席李卓彬等参加会见。

　　市委书记庄悦群在会见中希望美国硅谷科技咨询委员会一如既往关心支持汕头，拓展全方位、多层次、长效化务实合作，带动更多企业家、高层次人才来汕考察兴业，推动前沿课题、核心技术、创新团队、优质项目落地汕头。丁洪表示，美国硅谷科技咨询委员会将充分发挥平台纽带作用，聚焦新材料、人工智能、绿色算力、先进制造、生物医药等重点领域，推动更多人才、企业和创新平台来汕发展，为推动汕头产业提质升级、高质量发展注入创新动能。
