Recently, the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China released the list of the second batch of Distinct Agricultural Products of National Fame in China in 2026. Twenty-two distinct agricultural products from Guangdong Province, including “Chaoyang Bayberry” from Chaoyang District in Shantou, were successfully selected, adding “National Brand” strength to Shantou’s rural industries with local features.

Chaoyang District, Shantou, is the largest bayberry-producing area in eastern Guangdong and is known as the “Hometown of Chinese Black Crisp Bayberry”. Bayberry cultivation in the District dates back more than 600 years. Local bayberries are mainly concentrated in towns such as Jinzao and Xilu. Benefiting from the uniquely advantageous selenium-rich sandy soil and mild climate conditions at the foot of the Xiaobei Mountains, they have developed distinct regional characteristics. This inclusion in the list of the Distinct Agricultural Products of National Fame in China will further enhance the brand reputation of “Chaoyang Bayberry”, help expand markets for specialty agricultural products, increase added value, and promote the high-quality development of agricultural industries that leverage local strengths.

“潮阳杨梅”入选全国名特优新农产品

　　近日，农业农村部农产品质量安全中心公布2026年第二批全国名特优新农产品名录，我市潮阳区“潮阳杨梅”等22个广东特色农产品成功入选，为我市乡村特色产业增添“国字号”力量。

　　潮阳区是粤东最大的杨梅产区，享有“中国乌酥杨梅之乡”美誉，杨梅种植历史超600年。当地杨梅主要集中在金灶、西胪等镇，依托小北山麓得天独厚的富硒沙质土壤与温润气候条件，形成了鲜明的地域特征。此次入选全国名特优新农产品名录，将进一步擦亮“潮阳杨梅”品牌，助力特色农产品拓宽市场、提升附加值，推动特色农业高质量发展。
