From March 28 to April 1, Vangjush Dako, Mayor of Durrës City of Albania led a delegation to visit Shantou. Mayor Zheng Renhao met Vangjush Dako and his team. Both sides had in-depth discussions on conducting cooperation in ports, economy and trade, education and other areas.

Zheng Renhao said that both Shantou and Albania are on the important nodes of "Maritime Silk Road". He hoped that both sides would seize the opportunity of implementing China’s national strategy of “the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road”, strengthen the cooperation in ports of the two places, promote the cooperation between the two places in the development of industry and it’s park, tourism culture and other aspects, and achieve substantial results. Vangjush Dako hoped that both sides would give full play to the advantages and features of Durrës, vigorously promote the friendly relations between the two cities, focus on strengthening the cooperation in ports, economy and trade, education and other areas so that the cooperation memorandum signed by both sides last year would be transformed into practical results for the benefit of peoples in the two places.

　　郑人豪表示，汕头和阿尔巴尼亚同处在“海上丝绸之路”的重要节点上，希望借助国家实施“一带一路”的战略机遇，加强两地港口合作，促进两地在产业和园区开发、旅游文化等方面的合作并取得实质性成果。万久什•达科希望充分发挥都拉斯的优势与特色，大力推动两市友好关系，重点加强在港口、经贸、教育等方面的合作，使双方去年签订的合作备忘录转化为实际成果，造福两地人民。
