The business delegation led by Feng Rujie, President of Teo Chew Society of Vancouver Canada arrived in Shantou on April 6 and inspected the investment environment and economic development of Shantou.

Founded in 1987, Teo Chew Society of Vancouver Canada is the earliest society of Chaoshan people established in Canada. For many years, the Society has been strengthening the friendship between the people from Chaoshan area, unifying force of the people from Chaoshan, and actively building the trade and cultural exchange platform between Chaoshan area and Canada. In the meeting, Zheng Tongsheng, Executive Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People＇s Congress of Shantou City, said that Shantou＇s development would need the support of overseas folks so as to boost Shantou to be better integrated into China＇s development strategy of “the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road”. Feng Rujie thanked Shantou City for its constant great support to the development of the Society. He said that, through this visiting, the delegation saw the dramatic changes of Shantou and the hope for Shantou＇s takeoff. In the future, he would pay attention to the construction of his hometown as ever, strengthen economic and cultural exchanges with Shantou, and do his best to support Shantou to accelerate the development.

　　由加拿大温哥华潮州同乡会会长冯汝洁率领的商务考察团于4月6日莅汕，对我市投资环境和经济发展情况进行考察。
　　加拿大温哥华潮州同乡会成立于1987年，是加拿大最早成立的潮人社团。多年来，该会积极敦睦乡谊，凝聚潮人力量，积极搭建潮汕地区与加拿大的贸易与文化交流平台。市人大常委会常务副主任郑通声在会见中表示汕头的发展需要海外乡亲的支持，助推汕头更好地融入国家“一带一路”发展战略。冯汝洁感谢我市一直以来对同乡会发展的大力支持，并表示通过此次参观，看到了汕头日新月异的变化，看到了汕头腾飞的希望。未来将会一如既往地关注家乡建设，加强与汕头的经济文化交流，尽最大努力支持汕头加快发展。
