Recently, Shantou Three-year Implementation Plan for the Construction of Information Infrastructure (2015—2017) was issued and implemented. According to the Plan, Shantou will focus on optical fiber network, mobile communication base stations, the wireless local area network in the  public area and other construction priorities, take unconventional measures, increase investment in construction, strengthen policy support, and promote the "full acceleration and advancement" of information infrastructure. It is planned that, by the end of 2017, Shantou＇s main broadband indicators will enter the advanced ranks of China＇s prefecture-level cities, and Shantou will be built into a leading broadband demonstration city in China.

　　《汕头市信息基础设施建设三年实施方案(2015—2017年)》近日印发并组织实施。根据《方案》，我市将突出光纤网络、移动通信基站、公共区域无线局域网等建设重点，采取超常规措施，加大建设投入，加强政策扶持，推动信息基础设施“全面提速、争先进位”。计划在2017年底前，我市各主要宽带指标进入全国地级市先进行列，建成国内领先的宽带示范城市。
