According to the good news from the International Fine Orchids Competition of the International Horticultural Exposition 2016 which is being held, four varieties of orchids including "Dreams Come True" from Guangdong Yuandong Guolan Co., Ltd., three works including "Oriental Pearl" from Lianhua Town in Chenghai District and two works including "Golden Lotus Line Art" from Shantou Orchid Society respectively win the gold awards. The orchids from Shantou become a beautiful landscape of this International Horticultural Exposition.

The International Fine Orchids Competition, which is organized by Tangshan City and is undertaken by the Orchid Branch of China Flower Association, sets single plant competition and landscape layout competition, reputed as the Orchid "Olympics". The fine works of the orchids from Shantou City achieved outstanding results in this Competition and won a total of nine gold awards, seven silver awards and nine bronze awards. The number of winning awards was ranked first among all the organizations participated in the Competition, which shows the strength of Shantou＇s orchid industry in science and technology innovation.

　　正在举行的2016世界园艺博览会国际精品兰花竞赛传来喜讯，广东远东国兰股份有限公司“美梦成真”等4个品种兰花，澄海区莲华镇“东方明珠”等3个作品，汕头兰花协会“金荷线艺”等2个作品分别获得金奖，汕头兰花成为本届博览会的一道亮丽风景线。
　　由唐山市主办、中国花卉协会兰花分会承办的“国际精品兰花展赛”，设置了单株竞赛和景观布置竞赛两种形式，有兰花“奥林匹克”的美誉。我市送展的兰花精品在本次竞赛中取得优异成绩，共斩获9金、7银、9铜，获奖数量在所有参赛单位中名列第一，展示了汕头兰花产业科技创新的实力。
