On the morning of November 22, Shantou Municipal Government, International Olympic Academy and Shantou Tang Qingquan Charitable Foundation held the signing ceremony of the cooperation memorandum for jointly planning the establishment of "Shantou Olympic Sports Academy".

The "Shantou Olympic Sports Academy" to be established will be the first cooperating academy of International Olympic Academy in China, aiming to educate the young students to understand the Olympic spirits and its values and principles as well as to build a world-class excellent sports academy. When meeting Huang Simiang, an executive member and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the International Olympic Committee, and his Party who were visiting Shantou, Chen Liangxian, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, said that the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government would spare no effort to promote the landing of the project, develop Shantou Olympic Sports Academy into an education model in the field of sports in China and even in the world, and build the most influential competitive sports talents cultivation base in China and an important platform for spreading the Olympic spirit and philosophy.

　　11月22日上午，汕头市政府、国际奥林匹克学院和汕头市唐清泉慈善基金会举行合作备忘录签订仪式，共同谋划创办“汕头奥林匹克体育学院”。
　　即将成立的“汕头奥林匹克体育学院”将是国际奥林匹克学院在中国的首家合作院校，其目标是教育青年学生认识奥林匹克精神及其价值观和原则，打造一所世界一流的优秀体育学院。市委书记陈良贤在会见莅汕考察的国际奥委会执行委员、财务委员会主席黄思绵一行时表示，市委、市政府将竭尽全力推动项目落地，把汕头奥林匹克体育学院办成全国乃至全球体育领域的教育典范，打造国内最具影响力的竞技体育人才培育基地和奥林匹克精神、理念传播的重要平台。
