Under the attention and promotion of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, this year Wuqiao Island has been included into the Province＇s Project Plan of Rebuilding Shanty Areas. Recently, Jinping District Office for Rebuilding Shanty Areas entrusted Guangdong Daan Project Management Co., Ltd. to conduct public bidding for the integrated services of investment and financing and construction of the relocation and resettlement of Jinping District Project for Rebuilding Shanty Areas in Wuqiao Island. It is planned to use 3 years to complete the overall relocation of Wuqiao Island and the construction of the resettlement area.
After preliminary investigation, within Wuqiao Island, the area to be relocated is about 430,000 square meters. About more than 6,700 households will be relocated. It is planned that the total floor area of newly-built houses for resettlement is about 600,000 square meters. According to the current plan, all the households will be relocated and resettled in an all-round way, and then the unified development and construction will be conducted on the island. The municipal government has planned to build the houses for resettlement of Wuqiao Island, school and other public supporting facilities on about 300 mu of land in urban Guanghua area.

汕头乌桥岛列入全省棚户区改造项目
在市委、市政府的重视和推动下，乌桥岛今年已经列入全省棚户区改造项目计划。近日,金平区旧城办委托广东达安项目管理股份有限公司,对乌桥岛棚户区改造项目搬迁安置投融资和建设一体化服务项目进行公开招标,计划用3年时间完成乌桥岛整体搬迁和异地安置区的建设。
经初步摸查,乌桥岛内须搬迁面积约43万平方米,涉及的拆迁住户大概6700多户,计划新建易地安置房总建筑面积约60万平方米。按照目前的计划,全部住户要进行整体搬迁、异地安置,然后对全岛进行统一的开发建设。市政府已规划在市区光华片区约300亩用地建设乌桥岛异地安置房和学校等公共配套设施。
