The Tunnel Boring Machine for Shantou Bay Tunnel Successfully Rolls off the Production Line

On the morning of August 7, China's first tunnel boring machine for the super large diameter submarine tunnel in 8 degree earthquake intensity area successfully rolled off the production line in Guangzhou, which marked that the construction of Shantou Bay Tunnel Project would be about to enter the most core and critical water section of the tunnel construction.

Shantou Bay Tunnel Project is China's first super large diameter submarine shield highway tunnel built in 8 degree earthquake intensity area, with such characteristics as complex geology, highly difficult construction and high-level safety risk. In order to ensure the reliability, advancement and stability of the tunnel boring machine, China Railway Tunnel Group, the builder of the Project, conducted global procurement bidding. German Herrenknecht AG, the world's leading manufacturer of tunneling equipment, won the bidding for manufacturing eastern front tunnel boring machine, which was especially tailor-made for Shantou Bay Tunnel. It took only 13 months for the design, manufacturing and factory assembly commissioning results of the tunnel boring machine, with a total construction cost of nearly RMB 400 million.

汕头海湾隧道盾构机成功下线


  8月7日上午,国内首条八度地震区超大直径海底隧道盾构机在广州成功下线,标志着汕头海湾隧道工程建设即将进入工程最核心、最关键的海域段隧道施工。
  汕头海湾隧道工程是国内第一条建在8度地震烈度区的超大直径海底盾构公路隧道,具有地质复杂、施工难度、安全风险等级高等特点。为确保盾构机的可靠性、先进性和稳定性,项目施工单位中铁隧道局集团进行全球采购招标,东线盾构机由世界领先的隧道掘进设备生产商德国海瑞克公司中标制造,专门为汕头海湾隧道“量身打造”。该盾构机从设计、生产制造和工厂组装调试成果仅仅用了13个月时间,总造价近4亿元。
