On the morning of March 3, the Sleep Medicine Center of Shantou University Medical College (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") was officially inaugurated at Shantou University Mental Health Center. This is East Guangdong＇s first comprehensive sleep disorder diagnosis & treatment and research center integrating scientific research, teaching and medical treatment.
The Center is equipped with internationally advanced testing equipment. Its network system is fully realized. It has 7 standard sleep examination rooms, corresponding electroencephalogram and polysomnography video-recording devices, and several portable polysomnography recording boxes. It will provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services including polysomnography, medication, psychotherapy, and respirator therapy, and CBT—I (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia). The Center will also assist in clinical diagnosis, guide clinical medication, improve the patient＇s sleep quality, and undertake the research project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. At the ceremony, the Center was also awarded the nameplate of the "Standard Base of the Sleep Center Construction of China Sleep Research Society".

粤东首家睡眠医学中心落户汕头
3月3日上午，汕头大学医学院睡眠医学中心在汕头大学精神卫生中心正式揭牌，这是粤东地区首家集科研、教学、医疗为一体的综合性睡眠障碍诊治和研究中心。
中心配备国际先进检测设备，全面实现网络系统化，拥有7间标准的睡眠检查室和相应的视频脑电和多导睡眠图记录设备及多套便携式多导睡眠图记录盒，将提供多导睡眠监测、药物治疗、心理治疗、呼吸机治疗、CBT—I(失眠的认知行为治疗)等综合性诊疗服务。协助临床诊断，指导临床用药，提高患者睡眠质量，并承担省及国家的自然基金课题研究。 仪式上，该中心还被授予“中国睡眠研究会睡眠中心建设标准基地”。
