The feasibility study report for new construction of Shantou-Shanwei Railway engineering was recently approved by China Railway and the People＇s Government of Guangdong Province. The total investment estimation of new construction of Shantou-Shanwei Railway is RMB 26.46 billion, and the new trunk line is 162.8 kilometers long ，there are five stations in the whole line, including  Shantou, Chaonan, Huilai, Lufengdong and Shanwei, the speed target value is 350 km/h, and the construction period is 4 years. The construction of the project will boost Shantou to build a high-level national integrated transportation hub and  a provincial sub-central city.

　　新建汕头至汕尾铁路工程可行性研究报告近日获得中国铁路总公司和广东省政府批复同意。新建汕头至汕尾铁路投资估算总额264.6亿元，新建正线长162.8公里，全线设汕头、潮南、惠来、陆丰东、汕尾共5座车站，速度目标值350公里/小时，建设工期4年。项目的建设将助力汕头建设高水平全国性综合交通枢纽，建设省域副中心城市。
