On the morning of July 30, Shantou city held the launching ceremony of the Shantou University East Campus and the Asian Youth Games Stadium and Gymnasium Project.

The Shantou University East Campus and the Asian Youth Games Stadium and Gymnasium Project undertakes the important mission of being the main stadium and gymnasium of the Third Asian Youth Games. The project is located at the northeast corner of the Tagangwei area of the East Coast New Town in the Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Experimental Zone (on the east side of Cuifeng Road). The total planned area is about 1068 mu（about 176 acre), and the actually used  area is 690.4 mu(about 114 acre).The project is constructed according to the standard of a comprehensive university campus with the capacity to accommodate 10,000 college students. The total construction area is about 474,200 square meters, and the total estimated investment is about 4.4 billion yuan. The project is built in three phases. In order to meet the requirements of the 2021 Asian Youth Games, the first and second phases of the project will be started first.

汕头大学东校区暨亚青会体育场馆项目启动

7月30日上午，我市举行汕头大学东校区暨亚青会体育场馆项目启动仪式。

汕头大学东校区暨亚青会体育场馆项目承担着第三届亚洲青年运动会主场馆的重要使命。项目选址于华侨试验区东海岸新城塔岗围片区东北角(翠峰路东侧)，规划总用地面积约1068亩，实用地面积690.4亩。项目按容纳1万名在校大学生的综合性大学校区标准进行建设，总建筑面积约47.42万平方米，匡算总投资约44亿元，分三期实施建设。为满足2021年亚青会举办要求，先行启动项目一、二期建设。
