Highly-anticipated Meizhou-Shantou Railway is expected to open in the second half of this year. The main structure of the Chaoshan Airport Station has been basically completed, and the construction of its external facade and interior decoration is under way. In addition, the construction of underground platform is nearing completion and all four track lines have been laid.
Meizhou-Shantou Railway is an important part and first-constructed section of Guangzhou-Meizhou-Shantou Express Railway corridor, and it belongs to the fast passenger railway which takes into account both the inter-city passenger flow and the medium and long distance passenger flow. Among them, the Chaoshan Airport Station is adjacent to Chaoshan Airport, with a straight line distance of 200 meters between them. The total building area of the station is nearly 34,000 square meters, and its maximum passengers in waiting room are 600 persons. It is the station with the largest area and the most in-waiting room passengers in the stations of Meizhou-Shantou Railway, and is the only underground station building. After Meizhou-Shantou High-speed Railway is put into operation in the future, Chaoshan Airport will become the third airport in China to seamlessly dock high-speed railway after Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, which will greatly improve the three-dimensional traffic network of Chaoshan Airport and realize zero transfer of aviation, high-speed railway and bus.

梅汕铁路潮汕机场站主体基本建成
备受关注的梅汕铁路有望今年下半年开通运营,其中设置的潮汕机场站目前主体结构建设已基本完成,正在进行外立面施工和内部装修,地下站台建设已接近尾声,四条轨道线已全部铺轨完成。
梅汕铁路是广梅汕快速铁路通道的重要组成部分与先建段,兼顾城际客流与中长途客流的快速客运铁路。其中,潮汕机场站毗邻潮汕机场,两者直线距离200米。该站总建筑面积将近34000平方米,最高聚集人数为600人,是梅汕铁路中面积最大、聚集人数最多的车站,也是唯一一座地下站房。未来梅汕高铁开通运营后,潮汕机场将成为继上海虹桥机场,成都双流机场后国内第三个机场高铁无缝对接的机场,极大地完善潮汕机场的立体交通网络,实现航空、高铁、公交的零换乘。
