Shantou Is Selected as One of the "Maritime Silk Road" Advantaged Cities

Recently, the 2024 Mayors Exchange Conference on Maritime Silk Road City Influence was held in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Xinhua Index Research Institute released the "Report on the Comprehensive Influence Index of China's Maritime Silk Road Cities (2024) – Chapter of China’s Cities", which has deeply explored and continuously followed up the protection and inheritance of Maritime Silk Road culture and the comprehensive development trend of 37 representative cities. Through comprehensive quantitative evaluation, these cities are classified into three tiers: leading, advantaged, and growing cities. Among them, 14 cities including Shantou, Foshan, and Haikou have been evaluated as advantaged cities.
In recent years, Shantou has made great efforts in cultural mining and protection, industrial optimization and upgrading, transportation infrastructure construction, and platform building and branding, for the purpose of promoting the Maritime Silk Road cultural exchanges and international trade and communications among cities, and injecting strong momentum into building an important gateway to the Maritime Silk Road.

汕头获评“海上丝绸之路”优势型城市
近日，2024海上丝绸之路城市影响力市长交流大会在浙江温州召开，新华指数研究院发布《海上丝绸之路城市综合影响力指数报告(2024)——中国城市篇》，对 37座代表性城市的海丝文化保护传承、城市综合发展态势进行深度挖掘和持续追踪，通过综合量化评估，划分为引领型、优势型与成长型三个梯队。其中，汕头与佛山、海口等14座城市被评估为优势型城市。
近年来，汕头在文化挖掘保护、产业优化升级、交通设施建设、平台打造搭建等方面下大力气，推动城市海丝文化交流和国际贸易往来，为打造海上丝绸之路重要门户注入强劲动力。
